Our Volunteers

Backyard Bounty volunteers come from all backgrounds, ages, shapes and sizes. Anyone who wants to spend a beautiful morning outdoors helping harvest excess fruit for people in need should volunteer for a Backyard Bounty glean. And hey, you just might get some fresh, local produce at the end of the pick! Once registered on our Volunteer page you can register anytime for available upcoming gleans.

Backyard Bounty Program Coordinator

McCall Marshall came to Backyard Bounty from a small organic farm she owned in Northern California. She brings a passion for farming and gardening and a desire to change our food system for the environment and the people that eat, making healthy food accessible to everyone. Prior to farming, McCall worked in business in New York city (using that Marketing degree) before she felt called to the field. When she's not gleaning, she enjoys hiking and being in the outdoors, yoga, traveling to new places and learning about other cultures, and spending time with her family, friends and pup. McCall loves bringing volunteers to rescue fresh, local produce as part of Santa Barbara County's action to address food insecurity, sustainability, and community engagement.
